Sweepstakes Newbie

I am a newbie to sweepstaking and blogging, for that matter. I have been entering into sweepstakes for about 3 months now and have had one exciting win, a steno pad win an unusual cover. Am I ready to give-up? Never.

My understanding is that to be successful in the Sweepstaking hobby, one needs to be patient and persistant. First, many sweepstakes have different ending deadlines. Once the deadline has been reached, another week or so can go by before the actual drawing for the winner(s) is held.
Then, depending on how many possible winners there are, this will determine just how long everyone is notified, if they are to be notified.

Winners of small items won't know they are winners until they go to their mailboxes. Several years ago, before I became a serious in Sweepstaking, I enetered a contest for a video game. It wasn't until I opened a large envelope and the video game dropped into my hands, did I realize I had won. My understanding is that when one wins something large, you may be contacted be e-mail, telephone or by letter that you have won and then usually you will have to complete a couple of steps before you will officially win your prize.

As a newbie, I am also looking for a great way to organize sweepstakes that I have enetered. Asthere are those that can be enetered every day. Other sweepstakes that can only be enetered one a month or once a week,so you want to get back to those sweepstakes and continue to enter. The easiest is the sweepstakes that can only be entered once. The hardest partto these sweepstakes is remembering which one's you have already enetered and if you enter a lot, you really need to trach these too.

I have a system in place for keeping track of winnings as they aren't as plentiful. So, if there is anyone who would be willing to share, I would be grateful.

I have learned much from my fellow sweepstakers. Mostly, these men and women are some of the nicest people that I have had the privledge to write to or speak to. They are happy to share and they are happy to help out. They are also happy for each other when someone else wins.

If you are new to this hobby, please remember to be happy for others when they win and be grateful for what you win.
